1 and so forth used to refer to other things of the type you have already mentioned, without actually naming them 同义词 et cetera :
She started telling me about her bad back, her migraines, and so forth.
2 [ only after 动词 ] formal going out from a place or point, and moving forwards or outwards :
The house was still burning, pouring forth thick black smoke.
